Birthday – Baba Deep Singh Ji

Baba Deep Singh Ji is one of the most revered martyrs in Sikh history. Born on January 26, 1682, in Pahuwind, Punjab, he was both a scholar and a warrior dedicated to defending Sikhism. He was baptized into the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and spent much of his life studying and teaching the teachings of the Sikh Gurus.

Baba Deep Singh Ji is best known for his leadership in the Shaheedan Misl and for being the first head of the Damdami Taksal, a religious school for Sikhs. He fought in numerous battles, including the Battle of Sirhind and Chapar Chiri. In 1757, he led a group of Sikhs to defend the Golden Temple in Amritsar from Afghan invaders. Despite being mortally wounded, he continued to fight until he reached the temple, where he ultimately passed away.

His legacy is remembered for its immense sacrifice, bravery, and dedication to the Sikh faith.
